Preuilly-sur-Claise is situated at the extreme south of the Touraine, at the crossroad of Berry (Indre) and Poitou (Vienne) on the Claise river.
There is a magic about this place. It is steeped in history with wonderful architecture around every corner of the ancient part of the town. Unspoilt by tourism, people are friendly and proud of where they live; the shopkeepers and restaurants work hard to provide the very best to everyone who walks through their doors.
The proud bells of Abbey St Pierre toll in the morning as your rise and in the evening as you prepare your evening meal, just to remind us that there is life in this sleepy corner of the Touraine.
The village lies 24 km from Descartes, 30 km from Le Blanc, 34 km from Châtellerault and 35 km from Loches. The largest city in Indre et Loire is Tours, and the other biggest one outside the department is Poitiers (Poitou).
Car and minibus hire is available locally for those who wish to travel as a group.
